Internal Router Updating the IP Address Range of StuSta

You can now proceed to change your router settings or reset your router. The network in your room is now set up but there still might be problems reaching the internet. We are working on it.

  • We enabled the memberfilter on out NAT (Network Address Translation) again. That means no members are no longer allowed to use the NAT. During the change we enabled it for all people, so that transition was easier until we update the memberlist to the new ip range.

  • For some old StuStaNet Router, supposedly, the ones with the ids #5xxx cannot be reset with the reset button. You need to go to the webinterface and reset the router from there: Administration -> backup/flash firmware, reset to default settings.

  • We have fixed most of the IPv6 Problem in our virtual machine. You should be able to access them now via IPv6.

  • Webmail works again.

  • The Wifi is working again, but it is possible that it still has problems. We are still working on it, so expect frequent outages.

  • The Memberdatabase is migrated to the new address range. So services activated for members are working again. You can now login to account.stusta.de and see your new asinged IP Range.

  • VKL Services are partially back online, most importantly Mails, Portal and Helfertool. Thanks, vkl IT for debugging from bella italia

  • We are hard(ly? hopefully not!) at work finding and fixing the remaining bugs and kinks in the network and on our servers. Currently we know that there are issues with the VKL services, Webmail (getting Mails via a Mail program is working again, also the mailing lists), Mammut, and the membership database in general. A major problem we need to work out are that Familienzimmer (or flats with more than one room, but only one tenant) are currently cut off from the Internet.

  • We are working on the corret DNS setup. Most Stuff should work. We can reach now all our VM but still need to configure specific access rules, like the wiki access or Wifi authentification.

  • We're now going to sleep. Good night.

  • We applied a workaround. Now HTTP also works.

We opened the NAT for everyone, even non-members, for now.

  • We are aware that everyone who uses HTTP (unencrypted web traffic) gets redirected to the no-member blocking page. We are working to fix that.

Nevertheless, you can still proceed with reconfiguring your routers, as HTTPS (encrypted traffic) works already. For users, this means that the internet works sometimes :D

  • You can reset your routers now. There still might be some problems left, we are working on it, but in the coming hours it should get resolved

  • The work on the Hardware is done. We now need to configure the Software side. Hang tight.

  • We are currently integrating a new transceiver into the new Central Switch and booting the new Internal Router configuration. The internet is now off for the whole StuSta.
